Workplace Health and Wellbeing
The most important assets in your organisation are the people. With research increasingly establishing in the link between work and health it is no surprise that many employers are working hard to improve the wellbeing of their staff. The business case for focussing on wellbeing in the workplace is sound. Not only will it lead to reduced sickness absence levels, it will also make your employees feel more valued and ‘engaged’ and more able to perform at their physical, metal and emotional peak; more likely to go the extra mile! We have supported a variety of both large and small organisations in the development of Workplace Wellbeing Strategies. We also have a whole menu of resources, training and initiatives which together form an impressive range of joined-up services and support for employees. |

Participants want trustworthy information on lifestyle topics; information and facts that will help them to make healthy choices. This information can be virtual (e.g. from website) or physical (e.g. information sheets and booklets). The other type of resources are the tools, worksheets and personal records which help participants to keep a track of their progress and highlight their achievements. Lifestyle skills, rather than knowledge, is key to sustainable behaviour change. These skills, such as goal-setting, record keeping and recognising behaviours are those which help us to put healthy knowledge into practice. Informal peer-support structures developed in the workplace can be some of the best sources of motivation and inspiration. This makes the workplace an ideal environment for lifestyle change. |
